About the Project.
At the beginning of the project, I focused on understanding the core challenges the client was facing. The goal is to create a platform that connects South African car, motorbike, and quad-bike enthusiasts. The main problem is to build a community that facilitates connections between buyers and sellers, while also providing space for user-generated content and educational resources like how-to guides. My role has been to ensure that every design decision aligns with building that vibrant community.
More on the Project
The next step in the process was conducting research to understand the audience. I found that the primary demographic consists of men aged 18-45, though there’s a growing interest among women as well. One of the key challenges for these users is finding affordable parts and reliable advice. Through interviews and surveys, I was able to gather insights that shaped the design, ensuring that the platform meets their needs with a user-friendly, community-focused approach.
Conclusion
I dove deeper into competitive analysis and mapped out the features for Hood Famous Projects. I analyzed competitors like Autoblog and Jalopnik to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement. I also designed features that include user profiles, discussion forums, classified listings, and affiliate product integration. The design is focused on being fully responsive, with intuitive navigation and content that caters to the car enthusiast community in South Africa.
